Bastion Bungalow was built in 1667 AD, It is an example of the Indo- European style architecture, it is basically built according to the Dutch architecture. This Bungalow got its name because of its location on the site of the Stromberg Bastion of the Old Dutch fort. The structure of the Bastion Bungalow is spherical in type and has tiled roof. The Bastion Bunglow now falls under the category of protected site as declared by the Kerala Archeological Department. The bungalow also remained favorite film location for long .The Bastion Bungalow is believed to have secret tunnels underneath but they are yet to be discovered. This building has a beautifully circular structure of the bastion, and a tiled roof and a typical first floor verandah in wood along its front portion. At present the Bastion Bungalow serves as the official seat of the Sub-Collector. It is located at Fort Kochi 12kms from the city.
