Situated about 42 kms from Ernakulam, Chendamangalam is a small town and a panchayat in ParavurTaluk. The place has a singular geography of three rivers, seven inlets, hillocks and vast expanses of green plains. The 450 year old Paliam Palace is located in the town of Chendamangalam. This palace was once the abode of the Paliath Achans, the prime ministers of the Maharajas of Kochi. There are several hills and mountains in the surrounding area. The ruin of the synagogue which was built during the 17 century and the Vypeenakotta Seminary which was built by the Portuguese during the 16th century is another attraction of this place.
