Beypore is the famous ancient port in India. It is located about 10km from the south of the Kozhikode at the entrance of the Chaliyar River. Formerly the place is known as Sultan Pattanam. A small port and a picturesque beach is there. The place has much historical importance and which is very popular for building wooden ship. These ships are usually bought by the Arab merchants for commercial purpose, fishing etc. TASARA is a hand weaving center situated in north Beypore which attracts many visitors and students. It was established in 1977. The chief attractions in Beypore are fishing harbor, Beypore light house which is used as a navigation object for sea vessels, Dolphin’s point it is an awesome spot where one can see dolphins playing in the sea of an early morning, Kadalundi bird sanctuary 7km from Beypore which is the paradise of various migratory birds. These attractions give a visual treat to the visitors.
