Tirunavaya is a small beautiful village located at a distance of 8km from Tirur. It lies on the bank of the river Bharathapuzha. This place is famous for Mamankam festival which held once every 12 years. It was conducted in 1976 for the last time. Today annual Sarodaya Mela is conducted at Tirunava. Tirunavaya is also a pilgrim center. The main attraction of Tirunavaya is Tirunavaya Navamkunda temple. During Karkidaka Vavu people herd into the Bharathapuzha River to do the pithurkriya for the departed souls. The Melpatthur illam the home of renowned poet Melpatthur Narayana Bhattathiri is located 3km away. In ancient times Tirunavaya is famous as the excellent teaching center for Vedas, Sasthras, Tantras, etc. The green paddy fields are the symbols of the beauty of the village. The nearby attraction of Tirunavaya is pink lotus farming. There are 4 major lotus farms are located nearby.
